Project Completed: The Ranch House

Las Seis Chicas, Spanish for The Six Girls is the name given to this Michigan Ranch House. The inspiration behind the project was a very personal one. During the first 10 years of their marriage, homeowners, Craig and Jennifer had 5 daughters, giving Craig 6 “girls” to take care of. Hence his idea for the name. Craig designed this total remodel as a surprise for his wife, Jennifer. She had no idea about any design decisions until she laid her eyes on the final product. In Craig’s words, “She was blown away.” The couple has created a home the whole family can enjoy for years to come. Sitting on 30 acres this home offers plenty of room for the 15 grandchildren to grow and play, horses to roam and memories to be made.

Within this Ranch House, you can see the versatility of our Gray Barn Wood. From wainscoting to door trim to box beams to barn doors and everything in between. Every barn is unique, so the resulting barn wood color and characteristics vary according to weathering, age, maintenance, and location. The gray hues mixed with tan undertones, nail holes and saw marks add texture to each board. These variations are key to adding character to any space. Craig said, “I am truly blessed to be able to design and build my dream home, and you guys were an important part of it.
